Intro (a Mordecai at the gate)

"The events that followed in rapid succession,--the appearance of Esther before the king, the marked favor shown her, the banquets of the king and queen with Haman as the only guest, the troubled sleep of the king, the public honor shown Mordecai, and the humiliation and fall of Haman upon the discovery of his wicked plot,--all these are parts of a familiar story.

God wrought marvelously for His penitent people; 

The trying experiences that came to God's people

 in the days of Esther were not peculiar to that age alone. 

The revelator, looking down the ages to the close of time, has declared, The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 12:17.
The decree that will finally go forth against the remnant people of God will be very similar to that issued by Ahasuerus against the Jews. 

Today the enemies of the true church see in the little company keeping the Sabbath commandment, a Mordecai at the gate. 

The reverence of God's people for His law is a constant rebuke to those who have cast off the fear of the Lord and are trampling on His Sabbath."

The Prophetic Parable of the Jews

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him,

which owed him ten thousand talents.
But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

**10,000 talents is what Haman sold the Jews for. It is aslo what the servant owed his master in the parable: If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries. Esther 3:9

**Timeline of Prophetic Parable: 

- 474 B.C.-The King whom Esther would be married to took the throne.

- 457 B.C. The Jews returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple

- 31 A.D. The descendants of those Jews who begged forgiveness crucified the Christ.

- 34 A.D. Stephen stoned and Gospel goes to the gentiles. (The 70 week prophecy of Daniel came to an end)

- The Jews (the servant in the parable) torment their fellow servants, the Christians. 

- 70 A.D. Jerusalem destroyed and Jews turned over to their

"tormentors".

This parable was in response to Peter's question about how many times should we forgive someone.

Christ's answer: Then came Peter to Him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Matthew 18:21.22

Notice: 70x7=490. Same amount of time the Jews were given in the prophecy of Daniel for their Probation as a people. 

[62 weeks +7 weeks + 2 weeks then the 1 last week of the prophecy=70 weeks. A day for a year in prophetic time would mean the 70 weeks = 490 years.]

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 

And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:25-27

The Great Controversy in Esther

This GREAT CONTROVERSY between God & His opponent, Played out here on the Space Fabric of Time, in between the Twin Decrees from the Throne of God of "LET THERE BE LIGHT" (Gen. 1:3) to "IT IS DONE" (Rev. 21:6) -- Fought in the Battlefield of the Heart of Mankind --- is Repeated in the Book of Esther

Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus, (this is Ahasuerus which reigned, from India even unto Ethiopia, over an hundred and seven and twenty provinces:) -*- The heavens are Thine....

Esther 1:1/Psalm 88:11

.....[Queen Vashti was insubordinate to the king. Lucifer was insubordinate to God the Father]

But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, -*- For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 

Esther 1:8/Isaiah 14:13

......[Opening is during a 7 day wine feast (wine = doctrine in Revelation) where men drank of the wine they chose. Lucifer had free will to drink the wine (doctrines he would follow in his heart). The opening scene on earth began with 7 days of Creation Week. Men on earth would also have the free will to drink the wine (doctrine) they chose]

And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure. -*- With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. 

Esther 1:8/Revelation 17:2

......[Vashti was beautiful. Lucifer the covering cherub, was beautiful]

To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to

shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on. -*- O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty.

That Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus -*- And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.... Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you. 

Esther 1:19/Revelation 12:9

......[Esther was orphaned and raised by an adoptive father. Christ came to earth, an orphan among mankind, raised by an adoptive father if you will, Joseph]

And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter. -*- Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Esther 2:7/Matthew 1:18

......[Esther was only able to save her people because she was both a Jew and Queen. Christ was able to save His people by becoming a man while also being God]

Now in Shushan the palace there was a certain Jew,..., that is, Esther....And the king loved Esther above all the women, ... so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen  -*- Christ Jesus, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

......[Bigthan and Teresh were 2 who had a special place in the kingdom. Adam and Eve were 2 with a special place in the Creation. Bigthan and Teresh sought to raise their hands to the king. Adam and Eve raised their hands to God by disobedience]

...two of the king's chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the

king Ahasuerus. -*- And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion....But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die....she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

......[An investigation was conducted and Bigthan and Teresh were found guilty. Adam and Eve were investigated and found guilty]

And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; -*- And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done?

......[As a result of the guilty verdict Bigthan and Teresh both died. Adam and Eve both died as a result too]

...therefore they were both hanged on a tree: -*- God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

***Haman (Lucifer/spiritual Babylon) wants to kill the Jews (saints) because they won't bow down to him. 

And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed,

and reverenced Haman: ... But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence. -*- And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Esther 3:2/Revelation 13:15

wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai. 

And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all

people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them. If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries. -*- And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Esther 3:6,8,9/Revelation 12:17

***Mordecai (Remnant) would not bow because he was a Jew (the obedient Saints).

Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew. -*- Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Esther 3:4/Revelation 14:12

***Death Decree Goes Out

And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey. -*- And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

***Esther submitted to the will of Mordecai and resigned to die if it was necessary --- Jesus submitted to the will of the Father and resigned to die as it was necessary.

and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. 

-*- Saying, Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from Me: nevertheless not My will, but Thine, be done.

Esther 4:16/Luke 22:42

***Esther enters into the King's presence to plead for her people. Christ entered the Most Holy before God the Father to plead for His people.

Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon

his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favor in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom. -*- For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

***The Banquet = the JUDGMENT:

So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared. -*- Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom (dominion, reign) of our God, and the authority of His Christ have come; for the accuser of our [believing] brothers and sisters has been thrown down [at last], he who accuses them and keeps bringing charges [of sinful behavior] against them before our God day and night.

***After the first night books were opened.
On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring

the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. -*- A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him: thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

***At the beginning Bigthan and Teresh (Adam and Eve) names are brought up.

And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and

Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. -*- And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

***Mordecai (Remnant and Saints) are rewarded.

And the king said, What honor and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.....Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head: -*- To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.

***After the second night Haman (Lucifer) is destroyed.

And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? 

Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favor in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage.
Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?
And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman.

Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen...And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. 

Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face. So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified. -*- And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire...Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death.

On God's Name not appearing in Esther

"You are probably aware that some persons have denied the

inspiration of the Book of Esther because the name of God does not occur in it. 

They might with equal justice deny the inspiration of a great number of chapters in the Bible, and of a far greater number of verses. 

Although the name of God does not occur in the Book of Esther, the Lord Himself is there most conspicuously in every incident which it relates."

Purim

Purim was a feast to commemorate the deliverance of the Jews from Haman's plot to have them massacred in the Persian empire. 

It was Queen Esther who implemented the holiday.
On Purim, Jews today have someone read the book of Esther in synagogue. 

When the name of Mordecai is read the people cheer. 

Each time the name of Haman is read the people boo.
It is referred to as the Feast of Lots because Haman cast on which day to execute his plan.

Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim. 

To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and their cry.
